"Portrait of Miss Vanessa Ives"

Featured in the October 2015 issue of Cake Masters Magazine.

Inspiration for this cake came from the tortured soul of Miss Vanessa Ives, the main character from the popular TV series “Penny Dreadful” and the dark and ornate décor of the late 19th century Victorian period.

Each tier was hand painted to replicate a Gothic, damask wall paper. Both the candelabra and frame were sculpted by hand using modeling chocolate and the dark burgundy roses were made from gumpaste.
